Give in Honor of Borlaug

Norman Borlaug had a vision to change the world one day and one innovation at a time. His hard work and determination lead him to achieve that vision and to save millions of lives. Today, his legacy still lives on, and he is still inspiring our students to achieve greatness to innovate, communicate and inspire. There have been several funds in the name of Norman Borlaug that our students have the opportunity to receive throughout their collegiate careers. Norman Borlaug Fund

This fund has been implemented as a way to support activities and events that benefit undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Minnesota.

Norman Borlaug Youth Institute Scholarship

This fund has been created as a way to support and provide various scholarships for outstanding Norman Borlaug Youth Institute participants. This fund is being used to attract and retain high quality students who can create impact through innovation and leadership.

Norman E. Borlaug Fellowship for International Agriculture

This particular fund has been designed as a way to provide additional support outstanding graduate students at the university who are conducting their research on an important problem of cereal crops in a developing country as per Norman Borlaug’s wishes.

Vaala-Henry Endowment

This fund has been designed to provide additional financial support to young international scientists who are enrolled in the University's Department of Plant Pathology and receiving partial funding as Norman E. Borlaug Fellows in International Agriculture.

Stakman-Borlaug Center for Sustainable Plant Health

The Stakman-Borlaug Center for Sustainable Plant Health, a multidisciplinary center that addresses issues that threaten global food security and ecosystem health through research, education, and outreach. 

Norman Borlaug Science Achievement Award

Are you willing to help your favorite high school honor an outstanding junior for their scientific achievement? The Alumni Society of the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) welcomes your help to expand its Norman Borlaug Science Achievement Award program, established in 2005. It recognizes a deserving high school junior who excels at science. Make a difference in the life of a local student through just a few simple steps!
